Picture's of Chris's trip to Norway |
I've posted some beautiful pictures Chris took on his trip to Norway. He visited his Dad and many relatives he had never met. Lots of 3rd cousins. Two weeks wasn't enough time to see everything, but he did his best. His uncle, Erik Gillebo met him in Oslo and he spent the next two weeks around the Lillehammer area. Oyer, in the Gudbransdahl Valley is where all Chris and Eric's relatives were raised. Enjoy these pictures!

Dodger Baseball Game |
Ron had some great tickets for the Dodger game Monday night and invited us to go with he and Dana. Of course, we said yes. I have slowly but surely turned Hans into a Dodger fan. Hard to believe isn't it! Dana almost caught a fly ball..the fellow in the row in front of us caught it. They played the Cincinnati Reds and the Dodgers won..we even saw Manny hit another home run. Fun evening..even if I did get sick on a Dodger Dog! Ron said I TOLD YOU NOT TO EAT THAT..next time, I'll listen to him.

Half Marathon, June 6, 09 |
Another half marathon in Fontana..Hans did well with a time of 1:55. Dana & Lisa arrived around 9:15 to cheer him on, and we almost missed his finish. The announcer made a mistake and announced his name at 1:15 and we all knew that was way too fast. Dana remarked Dad must have had a terrific tail wind. We spent the next half hour looking for him and it was just lucky we saw him REALLY finish. He said he looked over to where we should be and didn't see his cheering section. We finally caught up with each other and I took a few pictures. It was a fun day. Pictures posted in Hans Running Pix file.

Sydney's trip to Blaine, Minn |
When Sydney received an invitation to try out for the 2010 U.S. Olympic women's ice hockey team, we knew we had to join in the fun of that trip! Hans and I flew to Minn on May 12 and spent 3 fun days with his relatives. David & Sydney flew back the 15th and we attended the tryouts the 16th & 17th. It was a great experience for Sydney and we enjoyed watching her play her heart out. She made the first cut, 20 goalies reduced down to 6. I posted pictures of the game and more of a fun afternoon at the Mall of America. Sydney, and a hockey friend that is going to school in Minn., enjoyed spending some relaxing time together. Her friend, Elena, made the first cut as well. We all had dinner at Famous Dave's Bar-b-q before boarding the late plane back to California.

Trip to Minnesota |
We had a wonderful trip to Minn. We planned our trip so we could visit Hans relatives for a few days before we joined David & Sydney at the tryouts. We had lunch with ALL of Hans cousins on his Dad's side. One cousin, Merle, hadn't seen Hans since he was around 4 or 5. We were in Blooming Prairie and Austin, Minn. Aunt Fern lives in Austin and she arranged for us to have dinner the night we arrived with some of her family in Austin, and we joined them for dinner again at Pat's farm in Blooming Prairie. Yes, I ate my way thru the midwest and loved every minute of it.

Ryan Jay Peterson |
What a surprise for all of us! Ryan Jay Peterson decided to join the family June 1, instead of Sept 4th. Lisa had complications that made a C-Section necessary. Scary time for all us. He is tiny. 1# 7 oz. He will spend a couple of months in the hospital, and Lisa will hopefully be coming home tonight. Posting a few pictures and will keep everyone updated. Update..Little Ryan..they called him Ryan the Lion at the hospital, passed away June 16. Ryan had a very large Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) which required surgery. He also had severe Edema which eventually lead to renal failure. A very sad time for all of us. Ryan's pictures are posted in the Main gallery.
